CHILDREN at a school are being given the chance to see their artwork professionally framed, mounted and catalogued.
The school hall at Durham High School for Girls, on South Road, has been turned into a temporary art gallery, with work by all 250 girls, aged from three to 11, on display.
The work was professionally framed and catalogued by Mike Shanley, from the North-East company Images.
Parents were this week allowed in school to view the work and to buy the pictures at £8 each.
Deputy headteacher Val Dunsford said as well as raising money for the school, the event aimed to help children understand and appreciate art.
She said: "They're very excited about seeing their pictures framed, because they just look so much better and the school hall looks like a proper gallery."
