A MOTHER of two has won the sexiest female category in a national lookalike contest, as Hollywood sex siren Angelina Jolie.

Susie Lawrence has been told for years she looks like the Tomb Raider star, but she maintains she cannot really see the resemblance.

"When I look in the mirror I just see myself really, but people kept saying it, and people have even stopped me when I'm out shopping and said I look like Angelina Jolie," she said.

The 29-year-old mother of three-year-old twins Molly and Maisy said that winning the sexiest female category in the ITV1 Stars and their Doubles programme was a wonderful compliment: "It's absolutely brilliant," she said.

She was entered in the Granada competition by her mother, Barbara Lawrence, and could not believe it when she heard after the initial auditions that she was down to the last four in her category.

Having reached the finals in Manchester at the weekend, she was up against copies of Naomi Campbell, Sarah Jessica Parker and Victoria Beckham lookalikes.

Miss Lawrence, from Hurworth, near Darlington, had to create her own Lara Croft-style costume to make sure she looked just like the actress in the Tomb Raider films, and is hoping for a new career as a lookalike.

She said: "I'm going to get some more costumes now, because it could be the start of a new career.

"So many people kept asking me at the weekend how long I'd been a lookalike and who my agent was, but I'd never done anything like it before. It's really exciting."

The show will be on ITV1 in January.
