A Darlington school that achieved its best ever exam results this year celebrated at an awards evening.
Pupils and staff from Eastbourne School were praised for their hard work at the ceremony, held at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College earlier this month.
Geoff Pennington, Darlington Borough Council's director of education, gave out certificates and special prizes for attainment and improvement.
Eastbourne's GCSE and GNVQ results this summer were the best in the school's history, with 31 per cent of Year 11 pupils achieving five or more good GCSE passes.
Pupils in years nine and ten also achieved passes in GCSE French and GCSE Expressive Arts.
