Fishburn golfing enthusiast Lis Greenwell took the honours as the top golfer of the year at the annual presentation night of Newton Aycliffe Woodham Golf and Country Club Ladies Section held in the Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield.
She received the Club Championship Trophy and she also won the Stableford Bowl, and with partner Margaret Nisbet the Greensome Stableford. Margaret Nisbet was also well among the prizes, winning the Directors Cup. Medal 3, the Silver Birdie Tree prize, the Kath Golightly Salver, and with partner Jon Hunter won the Easter Mixed and May Day Mixed competitions.
Matchplay Champion was Tracey Pearse who also won the Most Improved Player award. She also won the Sue Morrow Trophy and with partner Wayne Pearse the Edmenson Trophy. Liz Nelson won the 16 hole Winter Shield, the Irene Geddes Trophy, the March Stable and Madam Curie competition which took her into the national finals where she finished fifth. She also won the Leslie Wake Memorial and the Three Clubs and Putter competition.
Other prizewinners included: Terry Bowles (the Golightly Putter and Medal 6, the LGU Bronze Medal ). She also won the Whitsuntide Mixed with partner Trevor Terry. Chris Quinn (LGU Silver Medal, Winter Eclectic, LGU Pendant and Medal 8). She also won the Tunisian Greensome and the Dransfield Foursomes, with partner Kay Mott (Captain). Kay Mott also who won the Midweek League and the Celtic Foursomes with partner Barbara Robinson who in turn also won Medal 2 and the May Lowery Qualifier. Ros Railton (Medal 1, -a qualifier for the Help the Aged regional finals at Slaley Hall-Medal 7). She also won the Daily Mail 2004 Qualifier with partner Doris Crawford. Anita Maxwell (Nine Hole Winter competition). She also won the Coronation Foursomes and the Millennium Four ball with partner Pat Usher who was Net Club Champion. Lesley Mullen (Summer Eclectic, Bronze Birdie Tree, ). She also won Mixed League with partner Steve Haslam,and the Yellow Peril Stableford with partners Sue Morrow and Margaret Russell. She also won the Australian Spoons with partner Tracey Hahn. Tracey Hahn (Medal 5, Margaret Belshaw Shield). Pauline Johnston (Thornville Garage Cup, Medal 4). Olivia Angus (Ladies Secretary Prize); Jean Sutton (WoodhamWaywards Trophy). Norma Thompson with partner Ken Roberts (Captain's Mixed). Woodham Ladies won the annual Woodham - Whitburn Challenge and the Woodham Ladies team the County Autumn Greensomes. The Woodham Spoon played against the Men's Captain team was won by the Ladies
Retiring Captain Kay Mott made the presentations.
