Darlington Allstars: The Allstars Under-12s went through to the final 16 of the Durham County Cup after a strong controlled performance against Sunderland Stannington, winning 7-0.
Scorers were man of the match Lee Gibbon (4), Jack Johns, Darren Swankey and Dale Dixon.
The Under-12s found it hard to break down Sunderland but were two goals up before half time. In the second half the Allstars got into their stride and scored another five against a well organised Sunderland side. This was a fantastic all round team performance and a well deserved win.
Darlington Allstars Under-11s played South End Juniors in the Durham County Cup and lost 9-0. Man of the match was Robbie Chambers as Allstars took on an older team and although they found it hard to settle they never stopped trying and gave 100 per cent until the final whistle.
Darlington Allstars Under-12 Colts played South Park Rangers in the League and lost 3-1. The scorer was Jonathon Pritchard and man of the match went to Peter Nevison.
Darlington Allstars Under-13s played Marton FC in the League and drew 2-2. Scorers were Ross Kelly and Anthony Cox while defender Liam Coates was named man of the match.
Allstars Under-13 Colts played Teesside Athletic in the League and won 4-2. Scorers were Lewis Oliver, Chris Farlow and Neil Peacock (2) with defender Matthew Singleton named man of the match.
Allstars Under-15s travelled to Cleveland Juniors in the League and lost 3-2 with Jonathon Vinton and Scott Wilson scoring. Man of the match went to James Howard.
Darlington Allstars Under-16s were at home to South Park Rangers in the league and due to injuries, struggled to field 11 fit men. Allstars lost 5-2 with man of the match Daniel Hewitson scoring twice.
Allstars Under-16 Colts played Barnard Castle in the League and lost 2-0 with Chris Wood named man of the match.
This was a hard fought, evenly contested game with some good individual performances.
Darlington Mount Pleasant Rangers
Most of Rangers teams suffered cancellation due to frozen pitches but a few survived and were in League & Cup action this weekend.
The Under-13s, sponsored by King, Hope & Co, played away in the league against Redcar Racers. This was a hard fought game throughout and Rangers piled on the pressure, going close a number of times.
The pressure paid off with a 1-1 draw to secure a well earned point. Rangers scorer was Tom Helibron and man of the match was Karl Harrison.
The Under-12s, sponsored by Magnet Ltd, played at home in the second round of the County Cup against Sunderland Grange Park. Rangers worked hard in this game from the start, passing and moving with ease. Rangers dominated the game throughout and had some excellent chances on goal. The pressure paid off with a well earned 6-2 victory.
This result safely booking Rangers into the third round. Rangers scorers were Ayden Carrick (2), Richie Hinde (2), Joe Clare & Mikey Gillender. Rangers man of the match was Ayden Carrick.
Darlington RA
The RA travelled to Brompton who had only won one game this season. Despite this Brompton passed the ball well and created some good chances only to be thwarted by some firm defending and terrific saves by man of the match Shaun 'The Wall' Harrison in goal.
The RA then settled into a rhythm with Jack Ridley maintaining his record of scoring in every league game, eventually scoring all four first half goals without Brompton replying.
Changes were made at half-time and substitutes Adam Shann and David James staked a place for a starting position scoring one-a-piece, Brompton pulled a goal back and continued to fight for every ball.
Tom Watson completed the scoring from the penalty spot to make the final score 7-1 in the RA's favour continuing their terrific start as a newly-formed team.
