PARENTS and children have demonstrated against plans to close a Darlington nursery.
More than 30 parents and their children marched with banners outside Eastbourne Nursery, in Belgrave Street.
Parents said more than 500 people had signed a petition objecting to Darlington Borough Council's plan.
The council also wants to close Heathfield Nursery and create foundation stage departments at Dodmire Infant and Heathfield Primary schools.
Sue Bleasby, whose three-year-old son attends Eastbourne Nursery, said: "We feel as though the council has already made its mind up, but we are determined to fight on."
Council officers will meet parents from Eastbourne next Friday to hear about their concerns.
