A FAMILY business has won an award recognising its commitment to staff, customers and suppliers.
Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate, which makes chocolates, cakes, coffees and teas, is one of only three companies in the country to win the Family Business Honour for Social Responsibility from the Institute of Family Businesses, working with the London Business School.
It won the award after two members of the judging panel spent a day auditing the business and talking to staff.
The judges were particularly impressed with the way that Bettys and Taylors works with the local community.
The company invites more than 500 school children a year to learn about cooking at Bettys Cookery School and has planted two million trees around the world as a part of its Trees For Life appeal.
