A RETIRED businessman is hoping to be able to put someone in the picture after discovering a hidden hoard of old family snapshots.
The 175 photographs discovered by Peter Sotheran while clearing out an attic, date from the Twenties.
They consist of an album of family snaps taken by Alex Boagey, a Redcar printer, who died in the early Fifties.
They feature family holidays at Knaresborough and in Paris and include photographs of his wife and young daughter outside their East Cleveland home.
Mr Boagey must have taken the album to work with him, where it eventually became buried under a pile of papers which ended up in the building's attic.
Alex Boagey was one of the original partners of the firm that went on to become A A Sotheran Ltd. Now the property has changed hands again following the retirement of businessman Peter Sotheran, who made found the photographs during a clear out.
Mr Sotheran said: "With the great interest in family histories today, there may be a family member who would like to add the photographs to a family collection."
Anyone wanting to claim the album should write to Mr Sotheran, at 1 Sir William Turner's Almshouses, Kirkleatham, Redcar, TS10 4QT.
