THE inventor of the wind-up radio, Trevor Baylis, will be guest speaker at a major science and technology conference.
Venturefest York is the region's first exhibition of its kind for entrepreneurs and business start-ups.
Budding inventors can hear his thoughts on safeguarding ideas and financing projects.
They can also learn about a brand new concept for protecting intellectual property.
His seminar, entitled 'How to make a living from being an inventor', will be held during the free, day-long Venturefest York event taking place on February 5 at York Racecourse.
He said: "It is often the case that people with good ideas, young or old, do not have the necessary skills to see their ideas become a reality.
"Events like this are the perfect opportunity to get entrepreneurs and inventors of all ages together in a safe environment to help bring their ideas to the market place."
