Darlington Judo Club achieved their best ever success when they won four medals at the Junior National Championships.
In the six-year history of the Dolphin Centre-based club they had never won four medals in total, so to win four in one weekend was a major success.
Held at Crystal Palace, London, six club members competed with the following earning bronze medals: Stacey Stevenson, 12, Leander Somers 12, James Somers, 14, Sarah James, 15.
Elizabeth Dalby-Webb, 13 and Catherine James, 15, also competed at the event - considered the most prestigious in the judo calendar attracting around 1,000 competitors each year.
The bronze medals winners automatically go into the Great Britain team and will represent their country over the next 12 months.
And the club are hoping for more glory when they return to Crystal Palace early next month for the under-10 and under-11 age groups.
This year the championships were split in two so Jamie Appleton and Lee Hill will get their chance to win a medal in the under-34kg category.
