The second of the NYSD Cross Country races was held at Windlestone Hall, Rushyford on Sunday, November 16.
On a fantastic day James Snook competed in the Under 13 Boys race and finished 13th out of 22 runners over the 2.7K course to finish in a time of 11:08.
In the Under 13 Girls, Leanne Ranby covered the 2.7K course to finish 23rd out of 42 competitors in a time of 12:08, followed by Jessica Durham, 36th, 13:40.
Caroline Davies led the female Quaker contingent home to finish the 4.8K course 5th out of 63 competitors in 18:49, followed by Sarah James, 14th, 19:37, Katherine James, 25th, 20:45, Annette Clarke, 31st, 21:46, Julie Giblin, 44th, 23:31 and Beverley Snook, 53rd, 24:47.
As usual, Wayne Bramley led the seniors home. He finished the 9K course in 35:46 to finish 54th out of 135 runners. Next was Stevie Snook, 66th, 35:36, Steve Jones, 76th, 36:01, Dave Giblin, 92nd, 38:11, Graham Park, 113rd, 40:50, Danny Gordon, 118th, 41:53 and Harry Manuel, 133rd, 49:11.
Overall, this leaves the ladies in 4th team position, and the Men in 9th.
An apology must go to Michael Mallon for not mentioning him as Gerry Hehir's teammate during their excellent run in the recent Karrimor Mountain Marathon. Michael competed as a Quaker during this event, and the Press Reporter has been severely reprimanded!
