THE Middlesbrough Motor Club had a massive entry of 130 for their annual Vic Boyes trophy trial, held on Sunday at Clutterbeck Farm near Danby.
The course was over three laps of 12 sections and David Pye from Great Ayton, riding a Sherco, lost just 15 marks, seven ahead of runner-up Sean Robinson on a Beta.

Darlington Motor Club were in action on Sunday at Woodyard, Reeth, where an entry of more than 100 riders attempted four laps of a ten-section course.
The course turned out to be harder than intended, due either to the hard frost overnight or the conditions after it thawed.
The eventual winner was young Guy Kendrew on his Bultaco, who took A-class with the loss of 50 marks, two clear of the expert Gerald Richardson (Beta).

Sunday also saw the Consett Motor Club hold their annual Switzer trophy trial over four laps of ten sections at Rogerlee Quarry, near Stanhope.
The outright winner was Michael Lee on his Sherco, who completed the course without loss of any marks, as did second-placed John Crinson on his Gas Gas.
