Thirsk Falcons: Thirsk Falcons Under-12s were playing Northallerton in only their second home game of the season and they were without two regular players including their leading scorer.
Thirsk kicked off and lost the ball but quickly won it back, and it wasn't long before they had a shot but put it wide. Most of the game's action was in the midfield with the ball won and lost, Northallerton won the ball and shot but Thirsk's keeper saved. Northallerton were awarded a free kick which Thirsk cleared but only to the opposition and they attacked again and Thirsk's Luke Williams put in a vital tackle to clear the ball.
Northallerton then won a corner which was headed out by Thirsk to a Northallerton player who shoots, but again Thirsk's keeper Sam Robinson made an excellent save.
Thirsk attacked with Joe Barwick but he shot wide. Northallerton kept the pressure on and it paid off when they slotted the ball past the keeper. Thirsk kept the ball in Northallerton's half for the last few minutes of the half but were unable to score.
Northallerton again pressurised and they won a corner which was helped into the net by a Thirsk player, to put Northallerton 2-0 up.
Thirsk attacked and Liam Cook shot wide and although Thirsk were having more of the play Northallerton broke which resulted in Thirsk conceding a penalty. Thirsk's keeper nearly got to the ball but the shot was too powerful.
Northallerton then get another corner and scored from it and the final score was 4-0 to Northallerton. Another fine team performance from Thirsk and a good game for Joseph Saunders Luke Williams and Andrew Bustard. A well deserved man of the match for keeper Sam Robinson.
Tow Law Juniors
Tow Law Juniors visited Cleadon Juniors and started brightly. In one of their early attacks John Wheatley was brought down in the area and Andrew Bonilla confidently converted the spot kick.
After 12 minutes the Lawyers increased their lead when Adam Sullivan got in a good header, which hit the post but John Wheatley was on hand to tap in. The home side were failing to cause any trouble to William Bland in the Tow Law goal and it was no surprise when the visitors went further ahead after 21 minutes when Dwain Dobson struck a great 20-yard shot.
Cleadon's defence was stretched to keep out the rampant Lawyers, who went into the break with a three goals lead. In the second half chances were again carved out by Tow Law with Nicky Martin and Daniel Appleby being unlucky when their scoring efforts hit the woodwork and rebounded to safety. However, after 80 minutes, Anthony Lee created the perfect chance for Daniel Appleby to completely kill off the game.
The entire Tow Law team performed well but Lee Mott just edged his way to the man of the match award.
On Sunday the Lawyers have no match but on Sunday, December 6 they are at home to league leaders, Coxhoe with an 11.30am kick off at the Ironworks Road ground.
Bishop Auckland College
Bishop played host to Sunderland Spartans on a sunny and windless day perfect for football. The College did themselves proud and from the off it was neat crisp football, every player did their job despite some tough tackling from the opposition. Both teams had players booked but this did not stop the College from commanding the game, ending as 7-2 winners. Goals came from Derek Wade, Simon Quinn, Dale Dunn (2) and Anthony Ross (2).
