A STUDENT'S design skills will be brought to life in the show home of a housing development.
Perri Newton was one of several pupils at Sedgefield Community College who entered a competition run by house builder Bryant Homes to design a bedroom for its Winterton Park development in the village.
This weekend, the 15-year-old will see her vision become reality when the show home opens for the first time.
The pupils, who are all studying textiles at the college, were given free rein over the design of the room, and Perri's idea was chosen from about 30 entries, ranging from girly glitz and glam to sophisticated chic.
Melissa Lines, regional sales manager, said: "We certainly had lots of fun sorting through the entries, but Perri's stood out as being really different and imaginative."
The show home and Bryant Design studio will be unveiled to the public at a House of Fun themed launch tomorrow, between 10am and 4pm.
Sales negotiators will be on hand to answer questions, with activities for children.
