A MEMORIAL football match staged in tribute to a keen player raised £630 for charity.
The event, in Consett, was organised by Jonathan Crawley in memory of his brother, Franky, who died on August 2 last year after suffering a heart attack at the age of 33.
Franky was a keen footballer and played for the Smelter's Arms, in Consett, every weekend.
The match between the Smelter's Arms and Asda was held at Consett FC's ground, Belle Vue Park.
Mr Crawley said: "All the money raised at the game will go to the Heart Foundation in the North-East.
"My thanks goes to everyone who made donations, and to the FA for letting us use their grounds.
"We will be planning another memorial match next year following the success of this event."
