ANIMAL welfare campaigners hope to give a stray dog a home for Christmas.
Roly, a two-year-old cross-breed, was taken to the Deerness Kennels, in Langley Moor, in March after being found wandering the streets of Durham.
The Durham branch of the RSPCA now hopes that the brindle-coloured dog can be found a home.
An RSPCA spokeswoman: "It is lively and isn't particularly suitable for families with young children but would be all right with older children and is good with other dogs.
"We usually manage to get them out within two or three months but this one has been with us since March. It doesn't do them any good being in kennels too long.
"This will be our last re-homing before Christmas - we'll start again in January - and it would be nice to find the dog a good home.''
Roly will go to his new owner micro-chipped and vaccinated. Prospective homes will be inspected.
Anyone who can give Roly a home is asked to call the kennels on 0191-378 0439.
