POLICE were last night still searching for a man who plunged into the River Tyne early on Friday morning.
Tony Dockerty, 25, of Finchdale Gardens, Throckley, Newcastle, fell into the water from the city's Swing Bridge at about 1.45am.
Efforts to find him, involving rescue volunteers and a police helicopter, drew a blank.
Police are treating the incident as suspicious.
They arrested three men who were later released on bail pending further inquiries.
Police are also trying to trace a woman, thought to be a British Airways hostess, who allowed her mobile phone to be used to call police after Mr Dockerty hit the water.
Detectives are urging anyone with information to call them on 0191-214 6555 extension 62142.
