PEOPLE wanting to get on the property ladder are being given the chance to look around a new show home from this week.
On Thursday, the Mayor of Darlington, Councillor Ron Lewis, will open the property, which is a part of the 400-home Moorfields site, in the town.
Moorfields, which is regarded as a key part of Darlington's continuing regeneration, is a partnership between Firthmoor Community Partnership, Darlington Borough Council and house builder Haslam Homes.
Twenty-six homes have been sold since June.
Haslam Homes North-East region managing director Mike Croft said: "Moorfields is undergoing a tremendous renaissance with investment in a new primary school and community centre.
"It even has the new Darlington Football Club ground within walking distance.
"New housing is at the heart of the regeneration process and community survival.
"We are delighted to be a part of this exciting regeneration project, working with Firthmoor Community Partnership and Darlington council."
