SHOPPERS in Billingham are asked to buy an extra gift this Christmas to help bring a smile to children's faces.
The Asda store is supporting the Children North-East Christmas Gift Appeal.
Staff at the store will be collecting gifts from customers for the charity, which provides support and help for children and young people in the region.
Each year, the charity works with more than 3,000 youngsters helping them to reach their full potential and to overcome hurdles.
All gifts need to be unwrapped so they can be suited to the relevant age group. Suggestions include sweets, videos, books, clothes and baby equipment.
Any donations can be left in the decorated trolley near the entrance of the store.
