STUDENTS at Hurworth Maths and Computing College raised almost £750 for BBC Television's Children in Need charity appeal after staging a variety of fundraising events.
Year ten pupil Laura Usher raised £135 after persuading her mother to make a Pudsey Bear outfit for her. She wore the costume to school and collected donations for the charity.
The bulk of the money was raised at a non-uniform day, but there was also a coffee morning and bring-and-buy sale.
The money raised totalled £745.75.
