POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a crash involving a horse box and a car.
The accident happened on Sunday at 4.25pm on the A64 dual carriageway at Barton Hall, between Malton and York.
A rigid horse box crossed the eastbound carriageway from the Castle Howard road and stopped in the central reservation, waiting to turn right towards York.
The driver of a red Citroen Saxo, David Imerlishvili, 30, from Norton, near Malton, swerved to avoid the horse box and collided with the central barrier, rebounding across the road and hitting a tree before rolling over. He suffered a cut hand and minor grazes.
Police think the driver of the horse box, which is believed to have continued along the A64 towards York, may not be aware of the incident.
Witnesses are asked to contact traffic constable Paul Merritt, at Malton police station, on (01653) 692424.
