PEOPLE looking for work are being urged to contact a trust which could help them find their ideal job.
The Morrison Trust operates a job brokering service to help those in receipt of health- related benefits find work.
Kevin Watson, 40, of Thompson Street West in Darlington set up his own business after accessing the right help through the trust.
He took voluntary redundancy from the Flymo factory, in Newton Aycliffe, a couple of years ago.
Before that Mr Watson had worked as a painter and decorator and so decided to set up his own business in the trade in February.
"The Morrison Trust really helped. They put me in touch with a group called InBiz, based at Stockton, which gave me a lot of advice on getting the business off the ground," he said.
"There's a lot to sort out, liability insurance, health and safety, as well as capital to get things started, but it's been going for about ten months now and I'm doing all right. It's busy, touch wood."
The Morrison Trust offers a range of support to people to enable them to consider employment opportunities that suit their needs, to ensure they find and keep the jobs they want.
So far, the job brokering service has helped 86 people to secure employment.
Anyone looking to return to work is asked to contact the Morrison Trust on (01325) 387700.
