ARTIST Miranda Petersen is holding her first exhibition on home soil.
A display of her paintings and decorated mirrors are on show in Chester-le-Street Library.
The artist, who is based in the town, said: "I've exhibited my paintings in Newcastle before, but this is the first occasion I've had to display them in Chester-le-Street.
"It's a chance for my friends to come along and see some of my recent work."
The display features eight paintings and ten of Ms Petersen's decorated mirrors.
She said all the items were available for sale at the end of the exhibition.
The 31-year-old graduated in fine art from Carlisle College of Art in 1996, then completed a design and foundation course at Cleveland College of Art.
She described her work as abstract, with the exhibition featuring a couple of Aztec landscapes and pieces in acrylic, wax and chalk.
Ms Petersen's work can be seen in the library, in Station Road, from 9.30am to 7pm on Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturday.
