SUPER Gary Fox stole the show, literally, at South Durham ABC's show recently.
Fiery Fox was handed the boxer of the night award at a packed Hardwick Hall Hotel after an exciting contest with Lambton Street's Terry Lowther.
It was sweet revenge for South Durham's fighter after losing initially to the same opponent in a show at Sunderland earlier this year.
Fox had the edge throughout a fascinating and gripping encounter and he took the bout unanimously on points.
Gary was not the only Fox to have been in action at the plush venue, as his younger brother Terry turned on the style against Birtley's Daniel Kaine. But, despite an entertaining bout, Terry was unable to make it a family double and lost the contest on a majority points decision.
In the light-welterweight bout, South Durham's Mark Dawes enjoyed a similar victory when he recorded a majority points win over Workington's Darren Askew.
Debutant Seamus Edge could not have asked for a better first fight in the ring and he claimed a unanimous points win.
Clubmate Steve Slack was another good winner when he controlled his senior featherweight bout with Lee Glover from the first bell.
In the main bout of the evning South Durham's super-heavyweight Brian Robinson overcame London's Paddy Smith narrowly points on after a close encounter.
Joe Davidson and Jeff Saunders also recorded good wins on their home show against Gary Bowes (Ray Hood ABC) and Mark White (Birtley) respectively.
It was not such good news for South Durham's Carl Thompson who lost to Hartlepool Catholic Club's Liam Greenwood, who was awarded the best visiting boxer award on the night.
Birtley's Daniel Lewis enjoyed success over South Durham's Robbie Wilkinson, while Matthew Toothill lost to Lambton Street's Shaun Armstrong.
South Durham were delighted with the success of the night and they have already lined up another show on February 20.
