Whitehill FC holders of the League Challenge Cup went out of the competition losing at home 2-0 to Coxhoe Athletic.
Coxhoe went 1-0 up in the first half on 30 minutes. Neil Charlton received the ball on the halfway line, beat three players before slipping the ball past the keeper. Andrew Soppitt hit the second goal in 52 minutes. He beat the keeper from close range after Dean Smithson put him through with the perfect header.
Seaham Town were knocked out of the League Cup quarter final 3-2 by neighbours Seaham Mallard.
On 30 minutes John Reynoldson's free kick found David Combie who scored to give Mallard a 1-0 lead. Graham Rose made it 2-0 with a shot that dipped over the Town's keeper on 60 minutes.
Five minutes later Lee Cuthberts made it 3-0 with a volley from 15 yards. The Town pulled a goal back, Mark Hewitt heading home in the 70th minute. Two minutes later the Town were back in with a chance. Marty Taylor placing the ball with his right foot just inside the post from 15 yards. Despite all the pressure from Seaham Town, The Mallards defence held on to their 3-2 lead earning them a place in the semi-final.
Goals from Stuart Burton and Mark Green earned Belford House a place in the semi-final of the League Cup, they beat Brandon Prince Bishop 2-1. David Dobinson replied for Brandon.
There were 13 goals scored in the only two league games played. Simonside SC beat Durham Victoria Bridge 4-3. Ron Simpson, Simon Walters, David Basham and Gary Scott scored for the visitors with Kane Hobson Ian Brown and Nicky Barker replying for Durham Vic.
A 3-3 draw between Gateshead A and Shildon Railway was fair result played in a strong swirling wind. Chris Carlton, Ray Oshin and Kenny Boyle were on the scoresheet for Gateshead. Andrew Heavyside, Stephen McGowan and Tim Hole replied for Shildon.
