A PUB landlady will have her application for a public entertainment licence considered again after councillors deferred their decision last month.
Marie Kenny, of The Three Tuns, in Sadberge, near Darlington, has applied for a licence to stage nights of public entertainment on Tuesday, Friday and Saturdays.
She faces stiff objection from residents who fear it will generate noise and disturbance.
Two letters of objection have been handed to Darlington Borough Council's Licensing Committee, who will consider the application on Wednesday.
One villager, who strongly objects, wrote: "When the landlady has had music playing the noise has been horrific, going on until the early hours of the morning, coupled with cars coming and going, people shouting, cars revving up and speeding away."
Mrs Kenny has collected a petition of signatures from more than 100 customers in support of the application, which states "We the undersigned would be most grateful to the committee for approving the entertainment licence."
However, John Buxton, the council's director of development and environment, said: "Many of the names do not have addresses given and some are obviously false."
The committee deferred their decision at its last meeting after hearing that Mrs Kenny has run the pub without licences after taking it over at the start of the year. She also failed to produce an electrical certificate.
Mr Buxton said the certificate has been received and checked by the building control Officer.
