A TOWN yesterday made its own horticultural contribution to National Tree Week.
Seaham Town Council working in partnership with Peterlee and District Round Table and pupils from Parkside Infant School carried out a tree planting ceremony in Parkside Neighbourhood Park.
The Mayor of Seaham, Councillor Barbara Ramshaw and pupils from the school teamed up to plant sapplings.
The group effort was devised to bring extra greenery to one of the town's existing park areas.
