MORE than 70 senior citizens celebrated Christmas early with a free dinner at a top restaurant.
The Crab and Lobster, in Asenby, near Thirsk, invited senior citizens from the villages of Topcliffe and Asenby for lunch.
Entertainment was provided by the pupils of Topcliffe Primary School, who sang carols in the restaurant.
Members of the parish council from both villages attended as well as the directors of Vimac Leisure, which owns the restaurant.
Paul Mackings, managing director of Vimac Leisure, said: "It is a pleasure to give something back to the people of Asenby and Topcliffe.
"I am delighted with the attendance and the carol service from the pupils added to the enjoyment of the afternoon. I would like to thank Topcliffe Primary School for their involvement."
