A COMMUNITY health scheme is preparing to celebrate its first anniversary.
Launched in east Durham last year, the Health For All project, which has funding for four years, aims to tackle a wide range of issues.
In its first year, the scheme made more than 3,000 contacts with people and its services were delivered in 29 community venues.
Events attracted excellent turnouts as more than 1,500 attended Get Active sessions, 500 visited community health roadshows, 4,000 took part in Stress Buster sessions and more than 300 people attended healthy eating courses.
The project is holding a celebration event on Tuesday, between 11am and 2pm at Horden Welfare Hall.
Those who have been involved in making the programme a success will be presented with certificates of achievement.
Astrid Alvarez, from Health For All, said: "We are very proud of our achievements but we could not have done it without the help of local people and staff from Easington Primary Care Trust, District of Easington Council and all our partner agencies.
The event will begin with the presentation of certificates and will be followed by activities, including belly dancing, stress relief in the form of tai chi and a demonstration of healthy eating on a budget.
Throughout the day their will be a big screen showing off the Health For All website, and visitors will be invited to find out how to surf the net to learn about new local projects.
