On Sunday, 23 November, 9 Quakers competed in the Yorkshire Dragoon 7.7 mile road race at Hartlepool. On a bitterly cold day, Gordon Richards was first home for the club finishing 21st out of 164 competitors in a time of 49:18, followed by John Clarke, 44th, 54:10, John Edmondson, 50th, 55:11, Jes Smith, 68th, 57:17, Danny Gordon, 76th, 58:33, Dave Thompson, 78th, 58:43, Terry Deary, 110th, 1:02:07, Alan Prest, 135th, 1:06:01 and last, but by no means least, Ross Chisholm, 150th, 1:11:56. Ian Scott and Nick Millar where taking to the roads again competing in the Brampton to Carlisle 10 mile road race on Saturday, 15 November. Ian once again won the over 50 vet prize finishing 36th out of 493 runners in a time of 58:23 followed by Nick, 60th, 60:41. Ian Scott also competed in the Derwentwater 10 mile road race on Sunday, 2 November at Keswick. He finished again 1st vet over 50 and 15th out of 382 finishers in a time of 58:57.
