THE Mayor of Darlington has opened two show houses to mark the latest stage in the development of a 400-home site.
Councillor Ron Lewis cut the red ribbon at Moorfields, part of a regeneration programme on Firthmoor.
The houses belong to developers Haslam Homes and Barratt Homes North East, both of which are building a range of detached and semi-detached properties.
Twenty-six sales have been made since the site opened its office in June.
Moorfields is supported by the Firthmoor Community Partnership, Darlington Borough Council and the developers.
The area has already gained a primary school and a community centre opens in the New Year.
