A games club based on a book and blockbuster film trilogy has been launched on Teesside.
Stockton Borough Council's Children and Youth Services Department has created a Lord of the Rings club which started on Saturday at Stockton Central Library.
The third Lord of the Rings film, The Return of the King, will be released in the UK later this month and the club allows youngsters to act out scenes.
Sue Anderson, the council's libraries and information service manager, said: "This new games workshop is an ideal opportunity for those young people interested in the Lord of the Rings to try their hand at a tabletop battlefield.
"With the release of the third film, interest has reached a high.
"These sessions allow youngsters to become their favourite characters and re-enact battle scenes from the book and films while being in an environment of fantasy books and learning opportunity."
The free club runs once a month has been created because of the massive interest in a similar games workshop event that was held during the summer.
Places are limited so people are advised to book, either at the library or by calling (01642) 393999.
