A CHRISTMAS card designed by Sedgefield village children will soon be landing on doormats all over the country.
Sedgefield beat PC Keith Todd runs a Christmas card competition for children every year. The winning designs are used for his official Christmas card, which is sent to members of the Royal Family, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries.
This year's competition was sponsored by the Sedgefield Pub Watch scheme.
The theme for the competition was PC Todd eating Christmas dinner in one of the village pubs.
The winning entry was designed by Robert McGuinness, nine, who pictured PC Todd having lunch in the Crosshills Hotel.
Runners-up were Joshua Lewis, seven, Laura Foakes, eight, Lara Reynard, nine, and Sam Till, 11. All five designs will feature on PC Todd's card.
The prizes were presented at Hardwick Primary School yesterday by Pub Watch chairman Geoff Raynor, landlord of the Dun Cow.
PC Todd said: "As always I got lots of entries and the standard was very high, so it was extremely difficult to pick the winners."
