TECHNOLOGY developed by a Tees Valley company is helping to sell an exclusive North-East village to the world.

Wynyard Life is a magazine that has just gone online thanks to a website developed by Netspace Tees Valley.

Orders for the online version of the magazine, which alerts readers to news and developments in Wynyard, have since been placed from as far away as the US and Australia.

It was developed by Iain Forrest, a consultant at Netspace Tees Valley, who was approached by the magazine's designer, creator and Wynyard resident Nicola Errington.

The Tees Valley operation provides companies with products that help them to protect and expand their business on the Internet, offering a customised service previously only affordable by large organisations.

Wynyard residents include Manchester City manger Kevin Keegan and Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy.

Ms Errington said: "The movement of people from Wynyard through business is quite high and we wanted there to be another way for former residents to be able to keep in touch with what is going on.

"Iain has provided invaluable business support as well as developing ideas and suggestions on how the website can actually make money, rather than just being an ornamental page on the Internet."

It is hoped the website may be further developed, with information on surrounding areas and an online function to buy and sell houses.

Mr Forrest, who is also managing director of Netspace Tees Valley, said: "Nicola has created a stylish and influential magazine and this made designing a website to suit the audience much more interesting.

"Receiving orders from the US and Australia is a clear indication that the site is reaching far beyond the North-East."
