AN MP has attacked the Government's plans for education funding.
Vale of York MP Anne McIntosh said that schools in York and North Yorkshire were being given "meagre resources" for 2004 to 2005.
Only one local education authority in England receives less money per pupil at primary school level than York, and North Yorkshire has the third lowest funding at secondary level.
Miss McIntosh said: "The teachers and education officials in York and North Yorkshire are doing a fantastic job with the meagre resources they are being given by the Labour Government."
She wants each school in the UK to receive the same amount per pupil.
