ALIEN spacecraft, Santa and Mary and Joseph have all featured in a school's Christmas plays.
Traditional nativity plays and modern Christmas tales have been performed side by side by children at Bournmoor Primary, near Chester-le-Street.
Infants performed Who and Why Came Down at Christmas and a nativity play, while juniors staged Treasure Hunt, written by teachers. All 93 children were involved. Secretary Kath Calvert said: "Staff wrote Treasure Hunt themselves.
They based it on Treasure Island, but it contains references and jokes about the school."
