Spennymoor manager Tony Lee last night denied that he had resigned following Moors' 2-0 home defeat by Marine on Saturday.

Speculation was rife after the game that Lee had told friends that he was leaving following a row with club officials, but Lee last night quashed the speculation.

"I haven't resigned," he said. "I was annoyed with a few things after the game, and I did tell somebody that I might not see them next Saturday, but that was all."

Lee will be in charge for Moors' next game at Burscough this Saturday.

The defeat by Marine was Moors' ninth at home this season, to leave them adrift of the leading pack.

Both teams had good chances early in the game, but Marine went ahead after 31 minutes with a volley by Will Dolan, then after 56 minutes Tommy Taylor scored from a rebound.

Bishop Auckland's defending let them down again when they were beaten 2-1 at Chorley in the First Division.

They led with a 12th minute goal by Chris Moore who won possession, raced clear and beat the Chorley keeper.

But then the ball was given away in the Bishops defence after 64 minutes, allowing Ian Barker to equalise, then a few minutes later the Bishops stood off Barker, allowing him to fire home from 25 yards.

Bishop manager Brian Honour said: "We were looking comfortable, but again we gave away two stupid goals. We were a better team than them, and to lose in the way we did, makes me feel worse than when we lost heavily to Runcorn earlier in the season."

Blyth lost 2-1 at Alfreton in the Premier Division, Anthony Woodhouse scoring after Graham Fenton was dismissed for dissent.

Gateshead beat Hyde 2-1 in the First Division, Paul Thompson scoring both their goals.
