WORK is under way to help clear the skyline in a north Durham village.
Durham County Council is to carry out improvements to the centre of Bearpark, near Durham.
The first phase of the scheme will see overhead electricity cables laid underground.
Contractors are already working on the north side of Auton Stile, and are due to finish on Friday.
Workers will then move to the south side of the street, starting on January 5. They are expected to finish by mid-February.
New streetlights will be installed.
Traffic lights will be in place while the scheme is carried out.
