PUPILS have been entertaining residents with candlelit carol singing on their doorsteps.
The singers, from Durham School, walked to South Street and surrounding areas in Durham City for a performance, to raise money for charity.
The group of 14 boys sang a selection of popular and traditional Christmas carols and held candles to add to the festive atmosphere.
The group also attracted the attention of Christmas shoppers at the end of North Road, who stopped to listen to the songs and take photos.
The pupils, from different year groups, all belong to The Caffinites House at the independent school.
They raised £122 for Cancer Research, a charity with personal links to many of the boys and their families.
One of the singers, James Mishreki, said: "We are hoping to make this an annual event and would like to thank all the local residents for so generously supporting us and for appreciating our vocal talents."
