THIEVES and vandals attacked at least 13 cars in Darlington between 9am on Monday and 9am yesterday.
Thieves stole a handbag from a vehicle left for ten minutes in Violet Grove after smashing a window.
A handbag was also stolen from a car in Brunton Street.
A window was removed from a Ford Fiesta in Riverside Way, and thieves broke into a car in Salters Avenue.
A youth was disturbed breaking into a car in Hundens Lane, and ran off towards Byron Road. He was wearing a grey hooded top.
A stereo cassette player was stolen from a car in Symington Walk, and compact disc players were taken from vehicles in the car parks at North Road Primary School and Polam Hall High School for Girls.
The door lock was removed from one car and another vehicle's windscreen was smashed in North Road.
Vandals slashed tyres on several cars in Shearwater Avenue.
