THE use of medium density fibreboard (MDF) as a craft material in Darlington schools is to be investigated.
After being asked to consider proposals from several secondary schools to reintroduce the material, members of Darlington Borough Council's lifelong education scrutiny committee agreed to form a task group to review the material at a meeting on Monday.
The council imposed a ban on use of MDF in Design and Technology lessons in 1998 amid concerns about health risks.
