A BOY who cannot talk and struggles to walk should enjoy a new lease of life thanks to school pupils.
Instead of supporting the BBC television Children In Need campaign, pupils at Tudhoe Grange Comprehensive School, near Spennymoor, raised money for specialist equipment for Daniel McHugh, seven, from Spennymoor, who has severe global development delay.
His classmates at Rosebank Special School, in Ferryhill, also thanked the Tudhoe Grange pupils, because £1,000 from the £3,000 raised was donated directly to the school when they visited yesterday.
The money was raised through a disco, sponsored silence, mufti day, a sponsored leg wax and a carol concert collection.
