YOUNGSTERS have given the architects behind a new swimming pool something to think about after unveiling their own wish list.
New swimming facilities will form part of the pioneering education village being created in the Haughton area of Darlington.
Pupils from Beaumont Hill Special School, which will also be part of the village, made their views about the project known during a visit to the town hall.
Peter Collinson, 15, showed planning officials his proposals for a "cool pool" with disco lights, remote controlled boats, a slide and water jets.
Pool project co-ordinator Barbara Hemingway said: "The children have put a lot of thought, effort and imagination into their presentations.
"It is important that planners with responsibility for designing swimming provision for the future take these views into account."
The education village, which will provide continuous schooling for youngsters from the age of three to 16, is due to open next September.
