THE funeral of a former Darlington mayoress will be held tomorrow.
Louise Hutchinson, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, died last week, aged 82.
She was Darlington's Citizen of the Year in 1998, in recognition of her tireless work for charity, including almost 20 years at the Mayor's Charity Shop in the town.
She had also worked for the Royal National Lifeboat Instituition, the Family Help Association, the Red Cross, St Teresa's Hospice and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
Her husband, Clifford Hutchinson, is councillor for Cockerton West.
A Requiem Mass will be held tomorrow, in St Augustine's RC Church, Darlington, at 10am.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Alzheimer's Society, 407 North Road, Darlington DL1 3BN.
