Bedale: Winter Stableford: A winter stableford played on a cold Sunday with the course holding up well in spite of the time of year, 37 points proving a popular score requiring countbacks to determined the placings.

Two further competitions for those golfers of riper years have taken place recently.

Stableford Am-Am: With teams of four and two scores to count except on the part threes when three scores are included makes for an entertaining and sometimes frustrating round of golf.

Turkey Trot: This week's entrance money was returned to the winners in the form of vouchers to the winners to help defray the Christmas costs and next week we move to the puddings.

Ladies Dales Alliance

The second round of this new winter competition was played at Ripon City golf club and home course advantage was claimed by the winning pair, Tracy Clarvis and Sarah Bassitt with an excellent score of 41 points although this did not allow their team to finish in the overall top spot which this week was claimed by Bedale who moved ahead of Catterick.

Scores of the day: 97 points Bedale 94, Ripon City 90, Catterick and Thirsk and Northallerton, 69 Romanby.
