Darlington 21st Allstars: The Under-15s, sponsored by Cummins, were host to Hartlepool in the league and pulled off their best performance this season.
The whole squad worked hard with moves starting from the defence and being turned into goals by Wilson (5) and Barnett (3), who were on fire this week. The midfield contained the game with some inch perfect passing and the Allstars keeper pulled off some tremendous saves to keep a clean sheet. This was a well-deserved Allstars 8-0 victory. Wilson was named man of the match.
The Under-10s, sponsored by Davey O'Neill Roofing, travelled to Bishop Auckland St Mary's in the league and were goal-hungry. The whole squad pulled together for a tremendous performance with fantastic passing, defending and attacking. This was another well deserved victory and a good performance by the Allstars, winning 10-0.
Scorers were man of the match Steven Husband (4), Bradley Simpson (3), Andrew Wilson (2) and Liam Jarvie.
The Under-11s were away to Eldon Lions in the league and were out to attack. Eldon could only field ten men, which made the going easier for the Allstars who ended as 10-1 winners. The Allstars passed well and took their chances in this comfortable, but well deserved win. Scorers were Jack Whittaker (5), Karl Hewitt (2), James Nevens, Josh Phillips and Luke Thompson (1) with James Humble named man of the match.
The Under-11 Colts were away to Cargo Fleet in the league and started well to end the first half 2-0 up after a tremendous penalty save from the Allstars stand-in keeper. In the second half, the opposition came back much stronger and went 3-2 up. The Allstars managed to pull one back and the game ended in a 3-3 draw. Scorers were Mark Tweedey (2) and Thomas Airey with Philip Wake named man of the match for a fine display as stand-in keeper.
The Under-12s, sponsored by R Bland, were away for their fixture against Jarrow Boys in the Durham County Cup. The Allstars started brightly and played some good football but luck was not on their side and Jarrow stole a 2-1 win and go through to the next round. Dean Bland scored and Jack Johns was man of the match.
The Under-12 Colts were away to Newton Aycliffe FC in the league and Richings got a hat-trick in an 8-0 win. This was a superb performance with every squad member giving their all and a well deserved Allstars victory. Other scorers were Tom McCabe, Ryan Bowes, Michael Johnston and Nick McStravick (2).
The Under-13s were at home to Norton and Stockton for this weekend's league fixture. The Allstars worked well together in the first half and played some good football. In the second half, Norton and Stockton came out stronger and managed to take the points 3-0. The Allstars were unlucky not to take something from the game. Michael Pattinson was named man of the match.
The Under-13 Colts were away to Hardwick Youth in the league and never really got going, Hardwick took advantage and also the points 4-0. Lewis Oliver was man of the match.
The Under-16s, sponsored by Marks and Spencer, were away to Tibbs in the league and for almost the first time this season, fielded a fully fit team. The Allstars settled well and created some good chances and the team put together some exciting football. This was a good advertisement for junior league football and a quality performance by the Allstars who won 5-2. Scorers were Danny Hewitson (3), Stevie Richards and keeper Marc Briggs also notched from a penalty. Luke Raine was named man of the match.
The Under-16s Colts were hosts to Whitby Town in the league and against the run of play Whitby scored first. The Allstars fought back and got a well deserved equaliser only for Whitby, again against the run of play, to score again. The Allstars never let their heads go down and tried hard to create openings, but the game ended in a 2-1 defeat. Adam Lancaster scored and Mark Smurthwaite was man of the match.

Meanwhile, Spraire Lads' fixture programme was badly affected by the North Riding Cup and to a lesser degree, by the weather.
Spraire Lads Under-10s had an excellent 7-1 win against Fishburn. Spraire pushed forward from the first whistle but found the Fishburn keeper in good form. Spraire kept the pressure on and were rewarded with a goal by Wilson Kneeshaw on the stroke of half-time. Spraire made several changes during the interval, which changed the game and the scoreline. Goals went in at regular intervals with Matty Plumb netting a hat-trick, James Bennett adding one and Kerry Hedley getting a brace, the second of which saw Kerry run the full length of the field to score. Fishburn's consolation came late-on from a free-kick. In a friendly afterwards, Spraire won 11-1 with goals from Danny Stead (2), Matty Bowers (2), Matty Plumb (2), Bennett, Hedley, Zac Tervit, Kneeshaw and one for debutant Ryan Rimmer. A mention also to keeper Jack Binks and defenders Ben Tervit, Ryan Allison and Aaron Silliker.
With two minutes to go Spraire Lads Under-11s were leading comfortably 4-2 against Teesside Athletic, but two late goals resulted in a 4-4 draw. Jackson Kneeshaw (3) and Ben Sanderson were the Spraire scorers. Spraire lost their keeper, Luke Gilbert through injury after ten minutes with Chris Charlton taking over in goal and striker Ben Bradley slotting in at left-back to earn the man of the match award.
Spraire Lads Under-13s went down 5-1 to Coulby Newham. Ironically, Spraire were leading at half-time against the wind, thanks to a goal from Scott Hastie. Spraire fully deserved their lead but then went on to concede five goals with the wind at their backs. Man of the match went to Josh Myers, who kept going right to the final whistle.
After their stirring heroics last week, Spraire Under-14s reverted to a lacklustre display away to Nunthorpe YC. Things started well with Joe Clamp finding the net after 30 seconds and Spraire generally dominated play in the first-half. A cleverly flighted freekick from Chris Tingate could have sealed the game but he was denied by a harsh offside decision. Worse was to come after the break as the referee awarded a goal that didn't appear to cross the line, and a disputed penalty gave Nunthorpe YC an early Christmas present of a 3-1 victory. A missed opportunity, but Spraire only had themselves to blame. Danny Rimmer was Spraire man of the match.

Darlington Albion
The Under-12s Albion climbed to 3rd in the league after this weekend's 3-0 victory over Garrison. Albion played a superb game in which Garrison had few chances leaving Griffith in goal nothing to do. In the first ten minutes Albion squandered five chances, two of them from Jamie Potts who, on the third attempt, after some outstanding football from Albion's midfield scored a great low curling shot in the bottom corner giving their keeper no chance.
Garrison were awarded a penalty for hand ball but keeper James Griffith dived the correct way to make an outstanding save denying Garrison the equaliser. The second half saw Abion further improve and a wonderfully taken corner found Dale McPherson in the box to head home his first goal of the season. Albion were in full control and got a third after Lee Barnes sent in superb cross for Lewis Brown, man of the match, to send a left footed volley into the net making it 3-0 for Albion.
