DGSOB 2, Newton Aycliffe 1: All the goals came in the second half. Kevin Wilkinson notched for Aycliffe, but goals from Peter Grey and Chris Scott gave Old Boys their second league win of the season.
Greyhound 3, Hole in the Wall 1
Greyhound led after only 80 seconds courtesy with a strong shot into the roof of the net through a crowd of players from Paul Robson. With a strong wind at their backs it seemed only a matter of time before the league leaders increased their lead, but Wall defended well and both sides created and spurned chances until Martin Bell finally made one count as he scrambled home the equaliser. Greyhound went ahead three minutes after the interval, sub Chris Donald latching on to a long ball from Daryl Hall to score. They continued to dominate for the rest of the game sealing the points with a third ten minutes from time when Alan Robson converted brother Paul's excellent crossfield pass with a shot from the edge of the box.
Heighington 5, Barnard Castle 2
Heighington took advantage of the strong wind and low sun to take a three-goal lead within the first 20 minutes courtesy of a hat-trick from Andy Etherington. Barney never gave up and were almost rewarded when Jos Lewandowski had a shot cleared off the line and Robert Fell shot just wide. Heighington increased their lead to five shortly after the interval with a brace from Man of the Match Nigel Gamblin. Barney introduced Chris Venis into the fray on the hour mark and he set up Robert Fell to round both a defender and the keeper to pull one back. Fell then returned the compliment as he beat his man and crossed for Venis to head home. Lewandowski was again outstanding for the losers.
Killinghall Arms v Fox and Hounds
For the third time this season Fox failed to fulfil their fixture and now find themselves entrenched at the bottom of the table on eight points.
Shuttle and Loom 3, Grey Horse 2
Grey Horse took the lead when Matty Smith hit a 20-yard volley into the corner of the net. Paul Soderman levelled and that is how it remained at the interval. The second half was heading towards a stalemate when with 20 minutes remaining Dave Palmer restored Horse's lead. However, five minutes later Soderman scrambled home a second and with time running out Terry Greenstreet chased a long ball with the Horse defence appealing that the ball had gone out of play, he round the keeper and smashed an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net for a fortunate winner.
