Billingham Swimming Club enjoyed a family outing hosting their annual swimming gala at the Forum, members taking part from three year old to adults.
All swimmers enjoyed taking part and did themselves justice swimming to the best of their ability.
The gala commenced with the youngsters from the baby pool swimming a width. In the two races, free and back, Hannah Featherstone was 1st, Elizabeth Fenby 2nd and Adam Cuthbertson 3rd.
There was a strong presence in the 8/under. Helen Siberry was 1st in the free. Amy Howsden 2nd in the free and fly, 4th in the back and breast. Lucy Hedley 3rd in the free, back and breast. Alice Cleasby 1st in the back, 2nd in the breast, 3rd in the fly and 5th in the free. Hannah Sharp finished 1st in both the breast and fly, 2nd in the back and 4th in the free. Others competing in this age group were Kayleigh Freeman, Victoria Fenby, Victoria Shepherd, Abbie Cooke, Rebecca Smith, Faith Hamilton and Stephanie Jamieson.
There was also a large contingent in the 9/10 age category they all had to swim two lengths. Stephanie Blakeburn achieved 1st in the free, back, fly and I.M. and 3rd in the breast. Emma Shepherd 2nd in the I.M. fly, breast, back and 3rd in the free. Emily Whittaker was 1st in the breast, 2nd in the free, and 3rd in the back. Helen Dobson picked up 3rd in the fly whilst Catherine Goodman 3rd in the I.M. Other girls competing were Alice Sharp, Catherine Fenby and Chelsea Hamilton.
