Gt Ayton v Redcar Mackinlay Park: Half way into the season Gt Ayton have used ten goalkeepers and once again a regular outfield player took the keepers gloves.
This weeks stand-in Jamie Scott was soon in action and collected a cross to show he was capable. Redcar however had made the better start to the game and had the ball in the net after five minutes when Agar collected the ball in the six-yard-box, turned well and slotted past Scott. With a reshuffled defence Ayton were finding it difficult to organise themselves, and it was no surprise when Turner was given space to tee up a shot from 18 yards and increase the lead. Just before the interval Redcar increased their lead when McGillicuddy found himself one on one with the keeper to finish a good move and give his team a comfortable lead. A more determined Ayton went on the attack from the start of the second half. A good challenge by Hyde won the ball on the half way line, his pass found Ripley who laid the ball on for Murray to score. A period of sustained pressure by Ayton, with Simpson and Busby plasying wide, began to open up the visitors defence. However it was not until the final stages of the game that Ayton found the net, Ripley providing the perfect pass for Cooper to snatch a second goal for the home team. Ayton increased the tempo and almost snatched an equaliser Ripley creating an opportunity but being denied by a good challenge, giving Redcar the points.
Grosmont v Lingdale Tavern
Playing on a heavy pitch Lingdale began well going ahead after just two minutes as Shane Breckon picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box and chipped the Grosmont keeper. As Grosmont settled, new signing Willis in midfield made a couple of chances for Duck and Walker but the were unable to get passed the impressive Ashbridge and Hood in the Tavern defence. With Brown battling and chasing every ball in midfield Tavern scored again when Dane Breckon played a one-two with Ball and lobbed keeper Smeaton from 20 yards. On the stroke of half time Tavern netted a third when Shane Breckon set up Ball to round the keeper. Within two minutes of the second half Lingdale had scored twice more with another goal for each of the Breckons. The Grosmont defence held for the next 20 minutes then good work from Calvert saw him rewarded as he slotted home the sixth. With five minutes remaining Shane Breckon completed his hat-trick.
Hinderwell v Highland Laddie
On 30 minutes Laddie opened the scoring when Nesbitt played in Lawther who slotted home from a tight angle. Hinderwell were playing some nice football but couldn't break the Laddie defence, the visitors holding their lead to the break. With the wind advantage in the second half Laddie pushed Hinderwell back and went further ahead on 60 minutes when Burns floated a shot into the top corner. Pressing further Rye shot over the bar and Neasham fired wide. Hinderwell rallied with Clennan and substitute James both going close but Laddie's victory was sealed when a Neasham shot curled in from 25 yards.
Loftus Ath v Boosbeck Utd
After only ten minutes Loftus were awarded a penalty but failed from the spot but they finally opened their account when the ball was scrambled into the net by Bowes following a corner. The Loftus midfield were kept in check by Thompson, Crawford and Brown who were working hard to create openings for Boosbeck's two front men. Loftus, against the run of play, went further ahead as Midgeley was left unmarked with a clear shot on goal. Boosbeck were unlucky not to level the score early in the second half. First Wilson played in Winter whose shot on the turn went just wide then Al-Dick found his way into the box but sent his shot the wrong side of the post. A counter attack by Loftus resulted in Smithies scoring the third from the edge of the box. In the last 15 minutes Loftus took control and the Boosbeck defence could do nothing to stop Wilson taking the tally to 4-0, a scoreline that did not reflect the game.
Stakesby Arms v Annandale Hotel
In the first half Stakesby had some early pressure with man of the match Headlam giving the Annandale right back the run around. The second half saw the usual beginning for the Arms, sloppy defending cost them dear as Annandale scored twice in ten minutes, leaving the home side deflated. An injury to the Stakesby keeper, Usher forcing Mike Tom to go into the net soon led to a third Annandale goal as he was caught off his line. With two more goals added Annandale came out comfortable winners in a match well refereed by George Collings.
Scarborough Junior Cup
Lealholm v Whitby Albion
It took a penalty shoot-out to decide the winners of what was a close fought game throughout. Despite the efforts of both teams the first 45 minutes finished goalless with Whitby taking the lead 20 minutes into the second half through Simpson. But the lead was short lived as minutes later Robinson found the equaliser after some good work by Knight. With the score still level after 90 minutes the game went to extra time. In the first session Whitby were awarded a penalty but Simpson saw his shot well saved by Lealholm keeper, Thompson. The visitors must have felt aggreived as the game went to the penalty shoot-out as Lealholm's chances had been few. Both teams were successful with their first attempt then Whitby missed their second. This left Lealholm only needing to score their fifth to win but this was well saved by the Whitby keeper, honours even again. Both teams missed the sixth and then scored twice but as Whitby missed the 9th Knight stepped up for Lealholm and clinched the match.

Brotton WMC v Goldsborough
With a strong wind at their backs Goldsborough began strongly. A break in the 20th minute resulted in a shot from Thompson with only the Brotton keeper to beat. Townend was up to the challenge making an excellent save. Brotton made a couple of breaks but necer troubled the Goldsborough keeper. Townend however was called in to action again, producing another fine save when a shot from the edge of the box was heading in to the corner of the net.Brotton began the second half playing better and opened the scoring after just five minutes, Scott the man on target. With few chances created the game went into extra time. The teams cancelled each other out in the first period but Goldsborough began to regain control in the second session. Once again Thompson had a one on one with keeper Townend which was well saved. With only minutes left the Brotton team stopped to unsuccessfully appeal for a hand ball and Marsay nipped in to take Goldsborough through.
