MN All Stars played hosts to Drinkfield United and it was the All Stars who took the lead when Darren Thompson scored after Steve Howden's effort came back off the crossbar.
Lee Harding added two more goals to make it 3-0 at the break. When the second half started it was the home team again who found the net when Thompson headed home his second and his side's fourth, Carl Eeles pulled a goal back, but it was the home side who continued to press and man of the match Thompson rose at the far post to head home for his hat-trick goal and seal a 5-1 victory for the All Stars.
The Cricketers recorded their first league win of the season when they faced third placed Falchoin. It was the home side who started really strongly and within ten minutes they had a goal bound shot from Chris Piper cleared off the line. The first half saw the Cricketers in control as the Falchion failed to find a shot on target, after an other goal line clearance it was the home side who made the breakthrough on 25 minutes when man of the match and Cricketers centre back Alan Tweddle was found with a throw just inside the visitors half, made some space for himself and from nearly 30 yards struck a shot into the top corner of Falchions' net giving the keeper no chance and make it 1-0 to the Cricketers.
The second 45 minutes started much the same way and after some excellent passing - a one-two involving Dave Jenkinson, playing in midfield rather than his usual defensive role, Jenkinson found himself one-on-one with the Falchion keeper Dean Bates, but composed himself and fired a shot into the bottom corner to give the home side a 2-0 lead. Falchion pulled a goal back through Mike Clayton and with a chance to go top of the league the visitors put pressure on the home defence but were unable to find a way through a spirited Cricketers who finished as 2-1 winners.
Axa Insurance picked up their third straight victory and completed the double over AFC Aruba with a 3-0 win. After an even start Axa began to get on top as the first-half progressed and only the post prevented Chris Wilson scoring with a 25 yard effort. On the half hour Anthony Boyce opened his account for the season with a stunning 30 yard blast into the top corner.
Aruba kept plugging away during the second half but only rarely threatened the Axa goal. Two goals in five minutes after an hour made the game safe for the visitors.
James Barber scored both, the first an excellent finish after a strong run and the second a tap-in following good work from the impressive Wilson.
Although Aruba managed to squander a chance from two yards out with five minutes to go, Axa held out comfortably to end as 3-0 winners.
In the other games in the division Goodfellas continued to make progress towards the top of the league with a 3-2 victory away to Fighting Cocks and in a mid-table match between Newton Cap and Smith and Allan the points were shared in a 1-1 draw.
